- Second-chaired eight medical malpractice trials, argued major motions and examined/cross-examined key witnesses. Highlights include the following:
- Defended a complex medical malpractice case involving an air embolism that resulted in severe injury to the patient who remains in a persistent vegetative state. The other defendants settled immediately prior to trial, but the plaintiffs nevertheless elected to proceed against our physician client. After six days of evidence, the judge declared a mistrial due to the lack of consensus. A year later, we tried the case again and received a defense verdict.
- Successfully defended a surgeon and his practice in litigation that had been ongoing for nearly four years. Plaintiff requested relief in the amount of $1.5 million. After five days and most evidentiary rulings made in plaintiffs favor, the jury found for the defendants.
