Ryan is a trial attorney in the firms Virginia Beach office, and he has a diverse and extensive state court litigation practice which takes him to all of the communities within Hampton Roads. As a former prosecutor, Ryan gained valuable courtroom experience which has served as a springboard into his current litigation practice. Ryan has had the pleasure to represent a variety of local, regional and national businesses and individuals in their various disputes which range significantly in size and substance.
Ryan was selected in 2013 by the leaders in his firm to be a member of the firms Government Contracts and Defense Industry Study Team, and Ryan is also a valued member of three of the firms practice groups. Specifically, as a member of the Private Client Services Practice Group, Ryan handles complex and simple estate matters including trust reformation suits, contentious intra-family litigation and suits on behalf of creditors against the estates of individuals. Additionally, as a member of the Family Law Practice Group, Ryan handles divorce, custody, support and protective order cases. Ryan also handles the lions share of criminal defense matters when the need arises for clients of the firm. Finally, as a member of the firms Bankruptcy, Creditors Rights & Business Restructuring Practice Group, Ryan handles a variety of general business litigation matters in an effort to reduce his clients exposure or accounts receivable in areas such as construction disputes, contract disputes and creditor actions.
Ryan has developed a reputation as a smart and tenacious litigator regardless of the type of case in which his clients are involved. Additionally, Ryan is known by his peers and clients alike as a lawyer who regularly attacks a case in order to resolve disputes in the most cost effective manner, whether or not resolution requires a trip to the courthouse. Unfortunately, court is often unavoidable, but court is a place where Ryan is comfortable and confident.
