Overview
John Peterson serves as the Firm’s point person for assisting clients on all aspects of the Affordable Care Act. His deep knowledge of ACA compliance allows John to provide comprehensive legal counsel to organizations, businesses and brokers, responding to ACA challenges both creatively and proactively.
John also serves as the Firm's primary resource on estate planning for retirement plans and IRAs to minimize income tax while achieving client objectives. He is a member of the Firm’s ESOPs, Benefits & Compensation and Estate, Trust & Wealth Transfer practice groups. John has 45+ years of experience as both a practicing attorney and CPA in the areas of retirement plans and employee benefits. He also has extensive teaching experience on ERISA matters, 26 years as an adjunct professor at William and Mary Law School, and 23 years at Old Dominion University’s Professional Financial Planning program.
