    Chenxi Lu Joins Kaufman & Canoles

    Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. is pleased to announce that Chenxi Lu has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Norfolk office. Ms. Lu is a member of the Commercial, Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances, and Business Tax practice groups.

    Ms. Lu received her Bachelor of Law, with honors, from East China University of Political Science & Law and her J.D. from William & Mary Law School. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lu had experience working with the Community Tax Law Project assisting Virginia taxpayers with their federal income tax issues. She also provided research assistance to the National Association of Federally-insured Credit Unions on regulatory advocacy and compliance of credit unions nationwide. In China, she had experience assisting the merger and separation of wholly foreign-owned subsidiaries.

    Kaufman & Canoles’ Commercial practice group is the cornerstone of the firm. Integrated with other important specialty areas such as securities, environmental, real estate finance, tax, and labor and employment, the team assists clients with a variety of needs for their business.

    The Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances transactional experience is in employee benefits, environmental matters, intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate and tax issues, deal-structuring and document-negotiation phases of each transaction.

    The Business Taxation practice group is experienced in representing and advising clients in all areas of federal and state tax law relevant to their current business needs, including the formation, operation, expansion and termination of entities as well as tax controversy matters through audit and appeal, both administratively and through litigation.
