October 2024 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Maeve M. Harris has joined the firm’s Norfolk office. Ms. Harris is an Associate in the firm’s Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances and Real Estate Strategies practice groups.

Ms. Harris earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law.

She interned for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, assisting the Honorable Richard G. Latin and Chamber’s staff in preparation for conferences, mediations, hearings, and trials. She later became the Senior Articles Editor for the German Law Journal at the University and was the third-year Class Vice President of the Student Bar Association.

The Kaufman & Canoles Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances Group is comprised of seasoned transaction attorneys, drawing upon decades of collective experience to guide public companies and privately held businesses through complex asset and stock sales and purchases as well as mergers and other business combinations. The team partners with investment banking firms and accountants to manage deals effectively and resolve regulatory compliance, employee benefits, environmental, intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate, and tax issues to ensure the smooth structuring, negotiation, and execution of clients’ transactions.

The Kaufman & Canoles Real Estate Strategies Group is composed of attorneys and other professionals who focus on transactional, development, and land use matters, and related areas such as environmental law and tax planning. The team provides comprehensive representation to its real estate clients, using extensive legal knowledge and business insights to aid in the transactions process while managing risks.
