The IRS and FBI are warning about a new phishing scheme that impersonates the agencies and even goes so far as to include the emblems of both agencies. The email tries to entice the recipient to click on a link to download a fake FBI questionnaire. If the user clicks on the link, it downloads ransomware that prevents the user from accessing data stored on their device unless a fee is paid.
