The VBA Pro Bono Council’s Firms in Service Hampton Roads is partnering with the Virginia Access to Justice Commission to host a meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, dedicated to highlighting pro bono legal service efforts and coordination in the Hampton Roads. The meeting will begin with a luncheon at noon and opening remarks by The Honorable D. Arthur Kelsey. The afternoon will include sessions on the role of law schools both in providing pro bono services and in instilling in students a long-term commitment to pro bono services, as well as the role of the bench and the bar in coordinating, fostering and encouraging pro bono services among members of the bar in Hampton Roads. The Honorable S. Bernard Goodwyn will provide closing remarks to adjourn the meeting.

Confirmed speakers include Honorable Stephen C. St. John, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Virginia, Honorable Patricia L. West, Associate Dean for Career and Alumni Services of Regent University School of Law, Davison M. Douglas, Dean of the William & Mary Law School, Patricia E. Roberts, Director of Clinical Programs and Co-Director of the Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic of William & Mary School of Law, Judge David W. Lannetti, Norfolk Circuit Court, Crista Gantz, Access to Legal Services Director of the Virginia State Bar, and Tameeka Williams, Director of Pro Bono and Private Attorney Involvement for the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia.
