October 2022 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Benjamin A. Korte has joined the firm’s Norfolk office.

Mr. Korte is a member of the Commercial and Health Care practice groups. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia, his MBA from the University of Richmond, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law. He previously served as a Law Clerk for the Portsmouth Circuit Court and as Manuscripts Editor for the University of Richmond Law Review. Prior to law school, he also served in a technical role at Epic, advising health systems across the country on how to get the most out of their operating room management systems.  

Kaufman & Canoles’ Commercial team is the cornerstone of the firm. Integrated with other important specialty areas such as securities, environmental, real estate finance, tax, and labor and employment, the team assists clients with a variety of needs for their business.

Kaufman & Canoles Health Care Group assists clients with a broad range of issues including medical malpractice actions and disciplinary actions by state licensing boards, defense for professional liability insurance companies, hospitals, and physicians. The team has experience in litigating criminal and civil cases relating, among other things, to Medicare fraud and abuse, reimbursement disputes and representation of medical staff.
