March 2020 - For more than 100 years, Kaufman & Canoles has lived by the core values established by our founders, Charles Kaufman and Leroy Canoles, to provide excellent client service. These enduring values guide us as we face the difficult challenge of responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19), which the World Health Organization has declared a pandemic. Our hearts and concern go out to those affected by this unprecedented event, and we thank the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are working diligently to contain COVID-19. In response to this crisis, Kaufman & Canoles has implemented strict policies limiting employee travel, enhancing workplace safety, and deferring seminars and other larger Firm gatherings. Pending further developments, we are also requiring all employees and asking all guests who have traveled internationally, who have been exposed to at-risk individuals, or who are experiencing flu-like symptoms to refrain from entering our offices. Importantly, we are focused on implementing our business continuity plans to ensure that our availability to continue to serve the needs of our clients will be uninterrupted by these unusual and difficult events. As always, we remain available and stand ready to help and support our clients in addressing the challenges ahead, including assistance with navigating the unique employee and leave policies needed to address these circumstances and the legal implications of adapting to remote work environments. We recognize that this is an unsettling time, and we assure you that your safety, well-being and business needs are our highest priorities. Together, we will all work to responsibly and appropriately weather this storm.

William R. Van Buren, III
President and Chairman
