September 2024 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Jenni S. Tynes has joined the firm’s Virginia Beach office. Ms. Tynes is Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation and Family Law Sections. Her practice is focused on all issues of Family Law, including separation agreements, equitable distribution, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, retirement orders, and post-divorce matters.

Ms. Tynes earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia. During her time in school, she interned at the Office for the Attorney General of Virginia in the Division of Child Support Enforcement, and interned for the Honorable Stuart L. Williams, Jr. in Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Ms. Tynes also participated in the Jeanette Lipman Family Law Clinic, where she provided legal services to families and children in the Richmond community. Prior to joining Kaufman & Canoles, Jenni practiced family law in Northern Virginia for seven years.

Kaufman & Canoles’ Family Law practice group is comprised of educated attorneys who focus on personal legal matters including prenuptial agreements, divorce, post-divorce matters, child custody, complex distribution of property, adoption, and juvenile court cases. The team works to provide knowledge and advise to create satisfactory outcomes for their clients. 

Kaufman & Canoles’ Litigation practice group trial experience is vast, with an impressive record of success in many trials of extreme complexity before juries and judges, in both federal and state courts. The team is skilled at all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation, and frequently counsel clients on how best to avoid litigation.
