July 2021 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that John E. Holloway was named to Euromoney’s Expert Guides’ “Best of the Best USA” 2021 for shipping and maritime law. Mr. Holloway was one of 30 maritime lawyers named in the United States.

Mr. Holloway is Chair of the firm’s Maritime Law Practice Group. He received his B.S. from the Virginia Military Institute and his J.D. from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Law Review. Mr. Holloway handles a wide range of maritime matters, including litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters.

Expert Guides are published by Legal Media Group, the legal publishing arm of Euromoney Institutional Investor, one of the world’s leading financial publishers. Its research process involves sending over 4,000 questionnaires to senior practitioners or in-house counsel involved in each practice area in over 70 jurisdictions, asking them to nominate leading practitioners based on their work and reputation. The results are analyzed and screened for firm, network and alliance bias. The list of experts is then discussed and refined with advisers in legal centers worldwide.

Best of the Best” recognizes those individual practitioners who have received the highest and most consistent praise from their peers and clients during the Expert Guides research process for their respective practice areas (banking and finance, commercial arbitration, information technology, investment funds, labor and employment, life sciences, litigation, media, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, real estate, shipping and maritime, structured finance and securitization, tax, telecommunications, trade mark and white collar crime).
