April 2025 - Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. is pleased to announce that Kelsey T. Kita has joined the firm’s Williamsburg office. Ms. Kita is an Associate in the firm’s Estate, Trust & Wealth Transfer and Commercial practice groups.

Ms. Kita earned her J.D. from William & Mary Law School and her Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from West Virginia University. Prior to joining the firm, she interned at the James City County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, where she performed in-depth legal research on criminal law, participated in plea agreements, and assisted in training for officers in a mock trial environment. She also interned at Kaufman and Canoles in the firm’s Williamsburg office, assisting in research, drafting pleadings and memoranda, and attending court proceedings.

Kaufman & Canoles’ Estate, Trust & Wealth Transfer practice group includes Certified Public Accountants and lawyers with advanced legal degrees in Taxation. The team includes experienced trial lawyers who practice estate litigation and attorneys with broad experience in business law and commercial practice.

Kaufman & Canoles’ Commercial practice group is comprised of educated professionals, who offer practical experience in organizing and structuring business entities, including joint ventures, proprietorships, S corporations, C corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and non-profit organizations. The team offers advice in Franchising, Transactional Matters, Sales & Distribution, Formation of Business Entities, and General Business Planning.
