January 2020 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Lisa Hudson Kim has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Virginia Beach office. Ms. Kim is a member of the firm’s Real Estate section with an emphasis on the Real Estate Claims and Title Insurance Solutions and Consumer Finance practice groups. She received her B.B.A. in Finance from the College of William & Mary and her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review, Editor-in-Chief of The Richmond Journal of Law & Technology, and member of the Moot Court Board. Ms. Kim served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge, The Honorable Douglas O. Tice, Jr. of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in the Richmond Division. She has substantial experience in the areas of commercial, consumer, and civil litigation, real estate, title curative, consumer finance, bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, insurance defense, and collections in state and federal courts. She also has appellate litigation experience before the Supreme Court of Virginia, Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Kim is licensed in both the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of North Carolina.
