January 2021 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Nicole J. Harrell has been elected to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee.

Ms. Harrell is Chair of the firm’s Data Privacy and Security, and Alcoholic Beverage Practice Groups. She is also a member of the Franchising; Intellectual Property; and Merger, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances Practice Groups. Ms. Harrell handles a broad range of matters including cyber preparedness and breach response; federal and state trademark registration; copyright registration and assignment; negotiation of software development and licensing agreements; licensing of intellectual property; entity formation; corporate law; mergers and acquisitions and general contract negotiation; preparation of franchise disclosure documents; and franchise registration and compliance.

The Executive Committee is charged with the management of the firm, including overseeing firm standards for client service, the quality of legal services, professional development, and civic responsibility. Increasingly important is managing change in a rapidly moving business environment--something which Kaufman & Canoles has done very successfully since its founding in 1919.

“Nicole is a savvy business attorney and has been a member of Kaufman & Canoles for 19 years. We are thrilled she has agreed to take on this additional role to help manage the firm as we continuously strive to provide our clients with excellent legal services,” said William R. Van Buren III, Chairman.
