Beyond the Law
Jackson grew up on the shores of Virginia Beach, working summers as an oceanfront lifeguard with his two siblings, Harrison and Doria. After graduating from Princess Anne High School, he attended LSU on a full-ride Stamps Scholarship, majoring in natural resource ecology and management while competing on the varsity cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track and field teams. LSU is one of the nation’s top track & field programs, with 32 national titles to its name, including one during his time there. Alongside his training, Jackson conducted grant-funded research on how different environmental stressors affect black mangrove tree growth and assisted with wetland research projects that took him on fan boats deep into the swamps of Louisiana and Texas.
Jackson’s success in balancing academics, athletics, and community involvement over his four years earned him the H. Boyd McWhorter SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, the SEC’s most prestigious honor, and recognition as a “Tiger Twelve” recipient for his contributions to the LSU community.
Jackson believes strongly in hard work, tenacity, and community service, and those values carry into everything he does. In his free time, Jackson can often be found at local running clubs, volunteering, relaxing on the beach, or exploring nearby wetlands.
