January 2018 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Lauren S. Kadish has joined the firm as an Associate in the Norfolk office. Ms. Kadish will be a member of the firms Health Care and Litigation Practice Groups.

Ms. Kadish comes to the firm with years of experience serving clients in all aspects of litigation matters. Ms. Kadish obtained dual undergraduate degrees from The Catholic University of America including a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in German in 2005. She obtained her J.D. from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 2010, and has been practicing in Los Angeles, California for the past eight years. A graduate of First Colonial High School, Ms. Kadish (formerly Lauren McHorney) has returned home to Virginia with her husband and three-year-old son. As an associate in the firms Health Care and Litigation Practice Groups, Ms. Kadish will be specializing in medical malpractice defense and healthcare compliance.

Kaufman & Canoles Health Care Group assists clients with a broad range of issues including medical malpractice actions and disciplinary actions by state licensing boards, defense for professional liability insurance companies, hospitals, and physicians. The team has experience in litigating criminal and civil cases relating, among other things, to Medicare fraud and abuse, reimbursement disputes and representation of medical staff.

Kaufman & Canoles Litigation practice is one of the region's most successful and well-regarded trial sections. Members of the Litigation practice each specialize in particular areas of complex trial work in both federal and state courts and in both civil and criminal arenas.
