July 2025 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Alfred "Ran" M. Randolph, Jr. has been appointed the managing director of the firm’s Virginia Beach office. 

In addition to his new leadership role, Mr. Randolph serves as the firm’s Chief Growth Officer. He is a member of the Commercial, Lender Representation, and Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Alliances practice groups and brings decades of experience advising clients on a wide range of business and transactional matters.

His practice focuses on general business law, lender representation, and corporate and commercial transactions. Mr. Randolph serves as general counsel to a number of local and regional companies and has significant experience representing companies in all phases of existence, including purchase and sale transactions. He also represents a variety of capital providers including banks, mezzanine lenders, and private equity firms, as well as borrowers, offering a comprehensive understanding of both sides of a deal. His familiarity with the needs and expectations of lenders allows him to deliver responsive, cost-effective counsel to clients navigating complex financial arrangements.

Mr. Randolph earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
