Megan Gilliland and Joseph Houchin Elected Members at Kaufman & Canoles

January 2025 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Megan Martz Gilliland and Joseph E. Houchin have been elected Members at the firm. 

Ms. Gilliland is a Member in the Corporate and Public Finance practice group in the firm’s Richmond office. She concentrates her practice on public finance and local government matters. She earned her B.A. from the College of William & Mary, her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, and her Taxation LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Mr. Houchin is a Member in the Litigation and White-Collar Defense and Government Investigations practice groups in the firm’s Raleigh office. Mr. Houchin represents clients under investigation or charged with criminal offenses in state and federal court. Mr. Houchin also maintains a business law and regulatory compliance practice representing the needs of North Carolina employers and entrepreneurs. He earned his B.A. from George Mason University and his J.D. from University of Mississippi School of Law.
