Sometimes it seems employers are awash with new employment laws and regulations that require effective HR help to navigate. This year’s 40th ELU is designed to update employers on developments like the new proposed EEOC guidance on workplace harassment and new wage-hour regulations from the DOL. Officials from these and other relevant government agencies along with the K & C Employment Law Team will help employers avoid risk in an everchanging legal environment. We will even have a “Top Gun” employee lawyer provide insights on how he decides which employers he will sue. Attendees can also earn up to 6 credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and 6 PDCs toward the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCPA.

Ethics for HR Professionals — Check Your HR Compass

A dynamic presenter will present a highly interactive and enlightening workshop on workplace ethics confronted by employers. Attendees will learn how they can make the workplace more ethical and effectively deal with ethical dilemmas. This session will also help HR professionals meet annual ethics requirements for recertification.
Effective Workplace Harassment Investigations — EEOC on “Watch”

Workplace harassment claims remain a high concern for employers as well as the EEOC. This has led the EEOC to propose new guidance for employers on avoiding all forms of harassment. A current District Director from the EEOC and a member of the K&C Employment Team will provide attendees with tips on detecting, addressing and preventing concerns that could mature into litigation.

Attendees will enjoy lunch then the national EEOC Director of Field Management Programs, Tom Colclough, and the EEOC Charlotte District Director, Betsy Rader, will provide helpful tips to employers on how to effectively handle EEOC discrimination charges.
