    Charles V. McPhillips Selected as Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation

    January 2011—Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. is pleased to announce that Charles V. McPhillips has been selected by the Virginia Law Foundation to its Fellows Class of 2011. This honor is conferred on Virginia lawyers of integrity and character who are outstanding in their profession and their communities.

    Mr. McPhillips is the Executive Vice President of Practice Management at Kaufman & Canoles. His business law practice includes public-private partnerships; government contractor transactions; international sales and investment transactions; mergers, acquisitions and financings; joint ventures; and corporate/limited liability company law. Active in the community, Mr. McPhillips serves on the Board of Directors for TowneBank, Barry-Robinson Center, McMahon-Parater Foundation, Norfolk Forum, and the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Hampden-Sydney College and the James Barry-Robinson Home for Boys Trust. Mr. McPhillips serves as General Counsel to Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads and is the Chairman of the Campaign for Catholic Schools Endowment for the Diocese of Richmond. He is also the Founding Chairman of Saint Patrick Catholic School.

    Mr. McPhillips received his B.A., magna cum laude , from Hampden-Sydney College and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
