    Douglas M. Foley Earns Membership in National Association of Certified Mediators

    Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Douglas M. Foley has become a certified mediator and member of the National Association of Certified Mediators (NACM). This certification is based on the highest national standards recognized in the Alternative Dispute Resolution industry.

    The certification was obtained by meeting all requirements, including 40 hours of training, and achieving passing scores on assessment examinations provided through the National Association of Certified Mediators. Mr. Foley will now be able to provide mediation services, mediation training services, and overall mediation expertise to clients.  His focus will be on mediating commercial disputes including insolvency, restructuring and bankruptcy litigation matters.

    Mr. Foley is Senior Of Counsel in the firm’s Richmond office and is a member of the Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights & Business Restructuring, and Litigation practice groups. He has been practicing law since 1992 and has substantial experience in representing large and small creditors and debtors in a variety of insolvency situations. Along with this certification, Mr. Foley is also certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification Standards Committee. He is highly rated by Chambers USA, Martindale-Hubble (AV Preeminent), and is a past chairperson of the Virginia State Bar Bankruptcy Law Section Board of Governors. He has his B.A., cum laude, from University of Mary Washington and his J.D., with distinction, from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School.
